Rainy Days

The weather has been on and off lately on Bellaire street--today is barely raining; I'd sooner call it 'misting.'

We've had a lot of neighbors move in over the last few weeks - we got some next-door piano teachers a few days ago. Although they promise to not teach any lessons before 10a or after 7p, I enjoy hearing the tinklings of those thick piano strings wander into our place.

It has been quiet lately, as the cherry trees in our courtyard have worked to blossom through the vicissitudinous weather. They remind me of DC and the spring Cherry Blossom festivals on the Reflecting Pool and the live music at the Jefferson Memorial.

We're looking forward to the summer so we can go biking. There is a string of parks less than a mile from here which are linked together by a long two-lane path that winds along Cherry Creek, going under bridges and avoiding crossroads. We can't wait to have a picnic in one of the several parks, maybe Denver City Park, when it warms up for good.

Introduction to Life on Bellaire

When my wife and I decided to move to the Glendale area, we were looking for something close to the University of Denver. I may end up at DU Law in the fall, and we wanted something close, but not too close to campus. We ended up finding the 1190/1160/1140 Apartments on Bellaire on Craig's List, and it looked promising, so we came and had a look. Being the first apartments we visited, we needed to look no further! We immediately knew this was the place for us. Only 2 miles away from DU, one block away from Colorado Blvd (far enough away to be quiet, but close enough to be accessible by foot), close to Cherry Creek Mall, and a straight shot to museums and downtown. Perfect.

Everything was newly remodeled with new matching appliances, a unique open kitchen, and plenty of closet space--even enough for my wife's clothing! Our single bedroom apartment has been just the perfect size for us and our cat. Not to mention the very attentive apartment manager, who is always around if you need something, because she lives on site.

More to come!
